Bitter

Ale Bitter Ale   New Zealand

The "Bitter" ales of New Zealand developed in tune with similar developments in England. Being less affected by prohibition and slower to take to lager beers than North Americans, the New Zealand "bitter" ales gained wide acceptance.
The typical N.Z. "bitter" showed a slightly higher hop bitter and a decent hop aroma compared to mainstream mild N.Z. ales.
These "bitter" ales tended to a golden and amber colour range, with light drinkability a key focus.
From quite a "Burton" dryness through to a touch of sweetness, with aromas hinting of fruity esters and/or a touch of DMS complexity, these are fine ales with great market acceptance.
This N.Z. style "bitter" ale has that easy drinkability, light amber in colour, with very pleasing hop aroma and a cleansing bitter finish. 1037
